SOUTH BEND - Mary T. Heyde, 81, of Summit Drive, South Bend, passed away at 12:55 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born on July 30, 1922, in South Bend, to George and Barbara (Kertesz) Bagarus who preceded her in death. Her twin sister, Irene Bagarus, Sister M. Constance and Gizella Squadroni and brothers, George Bagarus and Louis Bagarus, are all deceased.

On June 1, 1946 in South Bend she married Lawrence C. Heyde who passed away in November 2001. Surviving her is a daughter, Susan E. (Ramon) Maldonado of Elkhart; son, Thomas G. Heyde of Columbia, S.C.; grandchildren Thomas J. Heyde of Columbia, Mary K. Heyde of Columbia, S.C, Tara L. Dahl of Tampa, Fla., Stacey L. Horvath of Indianapolis, Stephanie Horvath of Elkhart; three great-grandchildren, Jessica and Jordan Heyde, both of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Collin Horvath-Lutz of Indianapolis; sisters, Helen Bloom of Granger, Betty (Joseph) Danowski of Granger; and a brother, George (Dorothy) Bagarus of South Bend. Mary was a member of Holy Family Church.

On Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003 at 11 a.m. A Memorial Mass will be said in Holy Family Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Research Hospital. St. Joseph Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
