Vicky Lynn Hester, 49, residing on Kern Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away following a brief illness at 12:09 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, in Memorial Hospital. She was presently employed at Doc Pierce's, Mishawaka, Ind., serving as Hostess Extraordinare. She was born on Jan. 24, 1953, in Plymouth, Ind., to Robert and Barbara (McFarland) Maze, and was a lifelong area resident.

On July 29, 1987, as Vicky Teter, she married James W. "Woody" Hester, who survives. Along with her loving husband, Woody, she is also survived by two sons and their fiances, Erik Teter and Suz Duren of New Orleans, La., and Brandon Teter and Barbara Van Ess of Indianapolis, Ind.; five grandchildren; her mother, Barbara Maze of Plymouth, Ind.; and three brothers, Paul (JoAnne) Maze of Knox, Ind., and Gary (Ana) Maze and Wayne Maze, both of Plymouth.

Funeral services for Vicky Hester will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, in the Palmer Funeral Homes, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Mr. Michael McFarland will officiate. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
