Stanley Hes, 85, of South Kaley
Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30,
in his residence. He was born on Oct. 26, 1915, in South Bend,
and was the son of Michael and Lucy (Niemier) Hes. Mr. Hes
retired in 1979 from the former Wheelabrator Frye Corporation
after 33 years of service.
On Nov. 23, 1939, in South Bend, he married
Adeline Cholewczynski, who survives. Also surviving is a
daughter, Kathleen (Bill) Taylor of South Bend; a son,
David (Faye) Hes of Montclair, Va.; a granddaughter, Sandy (Jim) Granda;
three great-grandchildren, Travis Burks, Brittney Burks
and Taylor Marie Granda, all of Mishawaka, Ind.; a sister, Monica
Pawlak of South Bend; and by a brother, Edward Hess of
South Bend. Preceding him in death were two brothers, Leo and
Michael Hess; and two sisters, Martha Dodds and Theresa Graykowski.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m.
on Friday in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road,
where there will be a Rosary said at 4 p.m. Services will be held
at 10 a.m. on Saturday in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, with
entombment to follow in the Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum at the
St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the
Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend,
IN 46637.
Mr. Hes was a member of St. Adalbert
Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He was a veteran of
World War II.
