Mrs. Bess P. Hess

May 13, 1887 – February 2, 1976

Mrs. Bess P. Hess, 99. of the South Bend Convalescent Center, died at 1pm Monday in the nursing home after an extended illness.  Mrs. Hess was a retired beautician.  Born on May 13, 1887, in Hartford KY, she had lived here six years, coming from Indianapolis.

As Bess Proctor, she married Joseph Hess, who died in 1940.  Surviving are three half-sisters, Mrs. Elsie Bush of South Bend, Mrs. Pearl Fulse of Wabash and Mrs. Mable Moss of Phoenix AZ.

Private services will be at 10:30am Wednesday in the Forest g. Hay & Son Funeral Home, 1201 S Michigan.  Rev. Charles Reed, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church will officiate.  Burial will be in Crumstown Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Child Evangelism Fellowship.
