Robert A. Hesch, 55, of Mason Street in Mishawaka, Ind., died at 12:55 a.m. Saturday, March 27, in Hospice House. Robert was born in Bremen, Ind., on Aug. 10, 1948, to Robert and Helen (Vollmer) Hesch. He was preceded in death by his father.

He married his wife Vikki in Las Vegas, Nev., on March 17, 1988. Surviving Robert are his wife, Vikki; his mother, Helen Hesch of Mishawaka; two sons, Ben (Laurie) Hesch of Granger, Ind., Marty (Karen) Hesch of Arkansas; two stepsons, Jason (Mary) Claeys and Josh Claeys, both of Mishawaka; and six grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Connie Knapp of Mishawaka, Darlene Adams of South Bend, Debbie (Jim) Shivley of Etna Green, Ind.; two brothers, Tim (Jan) Hesch of Granger and Jeff (Cindy) Hesch of Mishawaka.

Robert served the city of Mishawaka for 34 years. He was the Director of Code Enforcement, Building Commissioner of Mishawaka, and for 21 of those years was a Mishawaka firefighter. The Mishawaka Firefighters Honor Guard will honor Robert during the visitation.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 29, in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. There will not be a funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
