Osceola, IN - Peggy L. (McFall) Hertel, 54, of Osceola passed away Wednesday as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on US 31 and 550 North in Miami County near Peru.

Peggy was born in Muncie, Ind., on February 1, 1952, to Russell McFall and Alice McFall Campbell.

Peggy really loved her grandchildren, gardening, fishing with her husband and bird watching out on her back yard patio.

She left behind her loving husband Gray Hertel; one son, Jason Johnson (wife, April), of Ft. Wayne; one daughter, DeAnn Johnson Trejo (companion, Brian); two sisters, Sherry Mackey (companion Norman) and Apryl Baker, both of Muncie, Ind.; one brother, Mike Baker (wife Kimber) of Syracuse, Ind.; three stepsons, Jayson (wife Heather) Hertel of Granger, Timothy Hertel of Indianapolis, Ind., and John Hertel of Bloomington, Ind.; four grandchildren: Austin Kuhl of Illinois, Vincent Trejo of Muncie, Isabel and Koby Johnson, both of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; and beloved niece and nephew Emily and Dustin Gunckie of Mooresville, Ind.. She also left behind two precious dogs: Bailey and Abby.

She was preceded in death by her father, Russell McFall; one brother, Gary Baker; her paternal grandparents, Ercie and Elmer Abbott; and her maternal grandparents, Alonzo Dick and Grace Dick Cordle.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 7, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23. (enter off Cherry Rd.), with Rev. Harold Walker officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum, Granger. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
