MISHAWAKA - Mildred Bernese Hertel, 92, of West Catalpa Drive, died at 12:10 a.m. Sunday in St. Mary's Community Hospital, South Bend. Mrs. Hertel was born April 1, 1903, in Mishawaka.

On Aug. 2, 1922, in Mishawaka, as Mildred B. Snyder, she married Edward A. Hertel. He died Sept. 30, 1986. She is survived by three grandsons; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clyde A. Snyder of Mishawaka. A son, Dale E., died Feb. 29, 1996. She was a member of Harris Prairie Church of Christ, Granger, and Young At Heart.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend, and an hour before services Wednesday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
