SOUTH BEND - Services for Michael A. Hertel, 39, of Sorin Street, who died at 11:12 p.m. Wednesday in St. Mary Community Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, where a parish rosary will be said at 3 p.m.
Mr. Hertel was employed by Ziker Cleaners. He was born Dec. 13, 1955, in South Bend.
On July 26, 1986, he married Dian Copenhaver. She survives with a stepdaughter, Joanna Longest of Mishawaka; a stepson, Tom Longest Jr. of Mishawaka; one step-grandchild; his parents, Betty (Merriman) Hertel of South Bend and Paul E. Hertel of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; three sisters, Regina Piechocki of Elkhart, Madonna Walters of South Bend, and Maria Hamilton of Mishawaka; and three brothers, Paul J. and John, both of South Bend, and Mark of Mishawaka.
