Casper Herma
Casper Herma, 82, of 610 S. Brookfield St. died at
5:30 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Hospital after a brief illness. He was a
retired tailor at the University of Notre Dame. He came to south Bend 55 years
ago from Poland, where he was born on Dec. 16, 1882. In 1908 he married
Antoinette Janczak, who died on Aug. 13, 1962. He is survived by three sons,
Joseph and Theodore, both of South Bend, and Aloysius of Vancouver, Wash.; a
daughter Mrs. Helen Kaminski, of South Bend; five grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren. Mrs. Herma was a member of Group 125, Haller's Post,
Wieprzowian club and the West Side Democratic & Civic Club. Friends may
call after 7 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in St.
Adalbert's Catholic Church, Rev. John Moskal, pastor, officiating. Burial well
be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
