Herczeg Jr. (March 22, 1989 -- Aug. 13, 2005)
MIDLAND, GA--
Stephen John Herczeg Jr., 16, of Midland, GA, died at The
Medical Center in Columbus, GA, on Saturday, August 13, 2005.
A celebration of
his life was held 4:00 PM Tuesday, August 16, 2005, in the
Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel. Mr. David Spiece and
Reverend Buddy Lamb officiated. Active pallbearers were Brad Beasley,
Tim Zabel, Ed Farr, Chris Lengel, Lo Hebel
and Stacey McManus. Honorary pallbearers were Scott
Herczeg, Stewart Herczeg, Shawn Curran, Joe Macon,
Andy Rolling and Seth Rolling. Burial followed at Parkhill
Cemetery. The family received friends Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, from
5:00 to 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
Stephen was born
March 22, 1989, in El Paso, TX, son of LTC (Ret.) Stephen John
Herczeg Sr. and Jolene Macon Herczeg. He was a Junior at Northside
High School where he was a member of the marching band. Stephen
was an accomplished saxophone player, member of the National
Junior Honor Society and had been selected for All District Band
during his freshman and sophomore years at Northside. He was a
history buff and great with computers. Stephen will be missed,
but his unique music will play on and on.
Survivors
include his parents, LTC (Ret.) Stephen John Herczeg Sr. and
Jolene Macon Herczeg of Midland, GA; two siblings, Katherine I.
Herczeg of Pine Mountain, GA, and Christopher Brennan and
his wife, Vicki of Phoenix City, AL; maternal grandparents, Ilene
L. Macon of Columbus, GA, and the late Joseph N. Macon; paternal
grandparents, Stephen R. and Sheila M. Herczeg of South Bend, IN;
several uncles, aunts and cousins.
