Richard A. Hensell Sr.

SOUTH BEND - Richard A. Hensell Sr., 73, of Mayflower Road, died at 3 p.m. Sunday in his home. Mr. Hensell retired in 1981 from Conrail as a yard master after 30 years of service. He was born Sept. 27, 1921, in Logansport, Ind., and lived in South Bend for 19 years. On April 2, 1944, in Logansport, he married Betty Whiteside. She survives with a daughter, Georgette Hensell of Phoenix; two sons, Richard Jr. of Marion, Ind., and Rev. Eugene of St. Meinrad, Ind.; two grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Smith of Logansport; and a brother, Bob of Logansport. He was a member of Moose Lodge 58; Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend; Mizpah Temple, Fort Wayne; Orient Lodge 272, Logansport; and Elks Lodge 2548, Plymouth.

There will be no services or visitation. Cremation will take place. St. Joseph Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
