SOUTH BEND - Geneva "Margaret" Henry, beloved mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 90
on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Quaker Heights Nursing Home in
Waynesville, OH. Mrs. Henry was a former resident of South Bend,
Indiana. Margaret was born on May 3, 1919, in Fulton County,
Indiana, to Ferman Powell and Florence Estabrook. She was the
youngest of five children. On January 31, 1941, she married
Norman Wayne Henry, who was her kind, loving and devoted husband
for 68 years until his death in April 2009. Norman and Margaret
had two children, Dennis Wayne and Kathleen Ellen. Margaret was a
devoted and active member of her church, the First Brethren
Church of South Bend, until moving to Waynesville in 2005.
Margaret was a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed many
simple things. She loved arts and crafts, ceramics, sewing,
crochet and cross-stitching. She collected countless dolls and
figurines over the years. She liked to play board games and
cards, tend to the wrens, and take care of the plants and flowers
in her yard. She had a natural green thumb. She was a generous
and humble person who could be counted on to help friends,
neighbors and those in need. Margaret is survived by her
daughter, Kathy Estabrook of Waynesville; three granddaughters,
Rachel Bock, Ginger Bock and Robyn Olivo; two grandsons, Thomas
and James Henry; four great-grandsons, Ahmad, Noah and Gabriel
Brock-Marshall, and Joseph Olivo; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara
Prater. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Norman,
her parents, her son, Dennis, and her siblings. A memorial
service will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010, at 10 a.m. in the
Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville, Ohio. Please send
contributions to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton,
OH 45240. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.stubbsconner.com.
