Death of Little Bessie Henrichs
Bessie Irene, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Henrichs, died
Nov. 27th at 11:30 p.m., at the family residence 329 south
Franklin street, after a lingering and painful illness of typhoid
fever. Her age was five years, seven months and 15 days. She was
a lovely child and her death is a crushing blow to the doting
parents. They have the sympathy of all in their affliction.
The funeral took place Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock
from the residence, Revs. N. D. Williamson and W. H. Hickman
conducting the services.
[Bessie, b: 12 Apr 1879 in Indiana, was the daughter of Michael
and Mattie (Mary) Minerva (Crockett) Henrich. [Heinrich] Bessie's
brother, Harrison C Henrich, became something of a noted artist
in the Los Angeles area. Bessie appears in the 1880 United States
Federal Census in South Bend. She was buried in City Cemetery,
South Bend, near a large Henrich-Crockett family memorial stone.]
