MISHAWAKA - William V. Hendricks, 97 years old, residing in
Mishawaka, formerly of South Bend, passed away at 11:00 a.m.
Saturday, April 17, 2010, in Hospice House of Elkhart. He was
born October 2, 1912, in West Lebanon, Indiana, the son of Marley
and Georgia (Schooner) Hendricks. He attended James Whitcomb
Riley High School, South Bend, and went to work for the
Studebaker Corp. until it closed. He later retired from the
Bendix Corp. where he worked as a draftsman. On July 18, 1939, in
South Bend, he was united in marriage to Edna M. Hupp, who passed
away September 10, 2005. Mr. Hendricks is survived by his
daughter and son-in-law, Sharon L. and Jack Selis of Mishawaka;
his son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Conching Hendricks of
Rapid City, South Dakota; three grandchildren, Matthew Selis,
Jennifer Selis and Bill Hendricks. Also surviving are five
great-grandchildren, Jarrett, Hannah, Grace, Heidi, and Paige,
along with several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to
express sincere gratitude to the staff and caregivers at the
Center for Hospice in South Bend and Elkhart. Also special thanks
to his friend and caregiver, Anne Casini. Graveside services will
be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, at St. Joseph Valley
Memorial Park, Granger, IN. There will be no visitation. The
Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend,
is assisting the Hendricks family with arrangements. Online
