Sister M. Helen, CSC

November 30, 1898 – November 16, 1977

Sister M. Helen, CSC, 78, of St Mary’s Convent, Notre Dame, died at 12:35am today in the convent.

She was born Elizabeth McDougal on November 30, 1898, in Salem NB.  She made her profession of vows on August 15, 1922.  She taught in secondary schools in UT, CA and ID, and was the author of numerous magazine articles.  She returned to St Mary’s Convent in 1975.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Anne Weller of Seattle WA, and two brothers, Herman McDougal of Redwood City CA and G. W. McDougal of Bremerton WA.

Services will be at 10:30am Friday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, St Mary’s campus, with burial I Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, ST Mary’s campus.  Friends may call from 10am until time of services Friday in St Mary’s Convent parlor.  A wake will be conducted at 7:15pm Thursday in the convent parlor.
