Richard L. "Rick" Heidrich, 59, of Whitcomb Avenue, passed away on Jan. 3, 2003, in his residence. Mr. Heidrich worked at Honeywell and was a former South Bend Fire Fighter. He was a member of the U.A.W. and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Rick's pride and joy was his granddaughter, Kelsey, who would call him Beca. Rick was born on Sept. 18, 1943, in South Bend to Richard and Ella Heidrich. He was preceded in death by his father and his grandmother Ella Fuzy. Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer (Daniel) Crago of Niles; his granddaughter, Kelsey Crago; mother, Ella Nemes and stepfather, Richard Nemes; ex-wife, Linda Heidrich-Drury; sister, Rebecca (Jon) Burkart of Mishawaka; and brother, Randall (Linda) Heidrich of North Liberty.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Family and friends may call 1 hour prior to services in the funeral home. Cremation will take place with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Association.
