George H. Heideman, 90, of South
Bend, Ind., passed away at home with his family on Friday, Nov.
21. He was born on Sept. 23, 1913, in South Bend, to George and
Henrietta (Baab) Heideman.
On April 24, 1948, he married the former
Virginia McKnight. George was an Army Air Corps veteran of World
War II. He was a student of the first graduating class of Riley
High School. After 27 years of service, he retired from American
Express. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 675. George enjoyed
many summers at Bear Lake, Mich., with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia of
South Bend; his daughter, Nancy (Cliff) Ponstein of
Holland, Mich.; his son, George (Karen) Heideman of South Bend;
five grandchildren, Amanda, Lindsay and Joseph Heideman, and
Chris and Phil (Jenny) Ponstein; and by his nephew, Ben (Mary) Cashman.
George was preceded in death by three
sisters, Margaret Stahly, Helen Cashman and
Vernette Heideman.
Funeral services will be held on Monday,
Nov. 24, at 11:30 a.m. in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, with
Rev. Ron Bowman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph
Valley Memorial Park in Granger, Ind. Visitation will be from 3
to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home.

First United Methodist Church of Mishawaka, Ind.
