SOUTH BEND - Michael M. Hegedus, 84, of North Adams Road, died about 8 a.m. Thursday in his home after an illness. Mr. Hegedus retired in 1971 from Bendix Corp. He was born Jan. 10, 1910, in Yugoslavia and lived in South Bend since 1920, coming from Yugoslavia. On Jan. 10, 1933, in South Bend, he married Helen Klein. She died Oct. 30, 1962. On Oct. 17, 1964, he married Dorothy V. Lesinski. She died Aug. 11, 1991. He is survived by three daughters, Marcia Kuharic of Mishawaka, Rosemary Robinson of Nappanee and Julie Wolf of Milwaukee; a son, Bill of Westville; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Katherine Molnar of South Bend and Mary Culp of Goshen. He was a former union steward.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, where a wake will be at 5:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
