SOUTH BEND - Doris Heeter, 78, of Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center, died at 2:15 p.m. Monday in the nursing home. Mrs. Heeter retired from Countryside Place, Mishawaka. She was born July 28, 1915, in Martha, Ky., and lived in South Bend most of her life.

On June 13, 1935, in South Bend, as Doris Kazee, she married Fred Heeter. He died March 14, 1985. She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Mitchel and Pauline Heeter, both of Mishawaka, and Alice Jones of Cove, Ark.; a son, Robert of Osceola; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the First Church of God, Mishawaka.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may call two hours before services on Thursday in the funeral home.
