Evert Earl Heddens: (South Bend Tribune 5/16/1988)
Evert Earl Heddens, 66, of 26398 Lakeview Drive, died at 1:35 a.m. today in St. Josephs Medical Center. Mr. Heddens was a self-employed brick mason. He was born Sept. 11, 1921, in Milo, N.D., and lived in South Bend for 19 years, coming from Michigan City. On Feb. 15, 1969, he married Lucille Golupski, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Deborah Franzi of South Bend, Dyana Drew of California and Laura Heddens at home; four grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Von Hartz and Velma Malicki, both of Michigan City; and five brothers, Kenneth of Michigan City, Wayne of Dewitt, Mich., Durward of California, Dale of New Buffalo and Keith of Hammond; and his mother, Hallie Hendrix of Michigan City. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home. Mr. Heddens was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, past commander and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9820, Bowlers Country Club and was a veteran of World War II.
