14, 1929 - Feb. 18, 2010SOUTH BEND - William Hecklinski, 80, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2010 in Hospice House. William was born on April 14, 1929 in South Bend to the late William and Virginia (Walkowiak) Hecklinski. On May 8, 1948 he married Irene (Bartol) in Edwardsburg, MI, she survives along with their two children, Sandra Hecklinski of South Bend and David (Andrea) Hecklinski of South Bend; and by his brother, Clarence Hecklinski of CA. William was a Police Officer for St. Joseph County, he owned and operated the Satellite Inn and also worked for Bendix for 24 years. He enjoyed flying aircraft's for over 45 years. He also played in the band Melodiers. He was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church. Family would like to thank neighbors and friends for all their help and support. No services will be held, cremation will take place. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend is assisting the family.
