Norma Joy Heckaman, 72 , residing at
315 S. Main St., Lakeville, Ind., passed away at 12:02 p.m. on
Friday, July 26, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, as a result of
injuries sustained in an automobile accident at U.S. 31 and New
Roads. Norma had been an Audio Visual Specialist with the
Union-North United School Corporation at the LaVille Jr.-Sr. High
School for the past 30 years.
She was born in Lakeville, Ind., on May 20,
1924, to the late Harry and Rowena (Barkley) Hall.
She was a lifelong area resident of Lakeville.
On July 18, 1942, in Lakeville, Norma
married David L. Heckaman, who survives. Also surviving are one
daughter, Jill Slagle of South Bend, Ind.; three sons,
David L. Heckaman II of Spring Lake, Mich., Dennis H. Heckaman of
Lakeville, Ind., and D. Toby Heckaman of Cotton Town, Tenn.; 10
grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and one sister,
Roxie McCausland of Lakeville, Ind.,
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on
Monday, July 29, at the Lakeville United Methodist Church with
the Rev. David Cross officiating. Burial will follow in the
Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. on
Sunday, July 28, 1996, at the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S.
Michigan Street, Lakeville and one hour prior to services in the
church on Monday. Norma was a member of the church, United
Methodist Women's Group, and a member of the Republican Precinct
Committee. Memorial contributions may be given to the church.
