SOUTH BEND - Sister M. Agnes Imelda Hayes, CSC, 88, of Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent, died at 10 p.m. Wednesday in her residence.

Sister M. Agnes Imelda was born Feb. 27, 1906, in Crafton, Pa., as Inez Mary Hayes. She entered the Congregation of Sisters of the Holy Cross, Saint Mary's, on July 3, 1926; was received as a novice Jan. 6, 1927; and professed her vows on Jan. 6, 1929. She was assigned as a teacher in elementary and secondary schools and taught in Idaho, Utah and California.

Services were held today in Church of Loretto, Saint Mary's. Burial was in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Hickey Funeral Home handled arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of the Holy Cross, Ministry With the Poor Fund, Bertrand Hall, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, IN 46556.
