SOUTH BEND - Loretta T. Hauguel, 77, passed away at 6:35 a.m. on
Wednesday, March 17, 2010, in Southfield Village, South Bend.
Loretta was born on October 11, 1932, in South Bend, to the late
Casimir and Irene (Splawski) Zielinski. On August 16, 1952, she
married Frank E. Hauguel, who preceded her in death on June 2,
1988. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Pam Held,
who passed away on June 1, 2009; brother, Ray Zielinski;
stepsister, Rita Nagy; and by her stepfather, Bernard Klosinski.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Scott) Lidgard of North
Liberty; and a son, Jim (Becky) Hauguel of Ft. Wayne; five
grandchildren, Jennie (Shane) O'Hara of South Bend, David (Peggy)
Kruk of South Bend, Tom (Sami) Kruk of South Bend, Emily Hauguel
of Glendale, AZ, and Hilary Hauguel of Ft. Wayne; two
great-grandchildren, Abby Kruk and Brayden Kruk; stepsister,
Helene Sobiech of South Bend; and sister-in-law, Lorraine
Zielinski. Loretta was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic
Church. She was a member of the Golden Cluster, Altar and Rosary
Sodality for Holy Family Catholic Church. She loved spending time
with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed polka
music. The family wishes to express their sincerest appreciation
to Dr. Sucharetza and Dr. Doctor for their care, compassion and
dedication to our mom. Also, heartfelt gratitude to the staff of
Southfield Village for their unwavering kindness, love and
support. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on
Friday, March 19, 2010, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S.
Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday,
March 20, 2010, in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will
follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made
to the National
Kidney Foundation , 911 E. 86th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis,
IN 46240; or to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111
Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637. For those who are unable
to attend the funeral liturgy, condolences for the family may be
