Sister Mary Lauranna CSC, 90, of St. Mary’s Convent died early this morning in the convent, after an extended illness. She was born as Anna Haskins on March 28, 1886 in Creston, Iowa, and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross Aug. 4, 1910, coming from Elkhart. She made her profession of vows Dec. 10, 1912 and was assigned to health services throughout her community life. She served as nursing supervisor at St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend from 1932 to 1935 and assistant directorector of the school of nursing there from 1949 to 1962. She also served in hospitals in Anderson, Illinois, Idaho and Ohio before her retirement in 1962.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Loretto Church and burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call in the convent parlors, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday.
