NORTH LIBERTY - William H. Hartman, 89, of 403 N. Lafayette St.,
North Liberty, passed away at 5:20 p.m. February 1, 2010, in
Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
He
was a retired former president of Hartman Builders in South Bend.
He was born June 28, 1920, in Salida, CO. He was an area resident
for most of his life and a graduate of the former South Bend
Central High School.
He
was married to Mary Price on June 2, 1951, in North Liberty. She
survives along with three nieces, Dr. Irene Copeland of
Lexington, VA, Faustine Comstock of Los Gatos, CA, Elizabeth
Nowak of Seattle, WA; two nephews, James Borders of Albuquerque,
N.M., and Eugene Townsend of Lansing, MI.
Mr.
Hartman was a flight engineer during WWII, serving in the U.S.
Army Air Corps. He was a member of the South Bend Rotary Club.
There
will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. February 11th in the North
Liberty United Methodist Church where he was a member, officiated
by Jan Dimick, pastor. A graveside service will be held after the
memorial service at Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one
hour prior to the service in the church. In lieu of flowers,
memorial donations may be made to the North Liberty United
Methodist Church for Haiti Relief. Arrangements are being handled
by the A.M. Manuel Funeral Home.

Methodist Church, where friends may call one hour before
services. A.M. Manuel Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
