WALKERTON - William Edward Hartman, 65, of Walkerton, IN, passed away Friday, December 18, 2009, in Hospice House, South Bend, IN. Mr. Hartman was born June 29, 1944, in Canton, Ohio, to Edward and Mary (Dray) Hartman, and lived in the area for 29 years, coming from California. On October 29, 1980, in Las Vegas, NV, he was married to OnaLee "Onie" Northam, who survives. Also surviving are children, Matt Hartman, Ronnie Hartman, Robin Robinson and Melissa Hartman; stepchildren, Debbie (Tom) Hall and Alan (Angela) Northam; eight grandchildren, Tara, Kristen and Anna Northam, Troy (Jeanne) Hall, Sayerd Hartman and Joseph, Jessica and Joshua Robinson; four great-grandchildren; his mother, Mary Hartman; and one sister, Deloris Mayle. He was preceded in death by his father. Mr. Hartman was a truck driver for ABF Trucking in Chicago and was a member of Teamsters Local #710 of Chicago. Funeral services will be Monday at 4:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) in Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel, with Pastor Thomas Padberg officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. Friends may call Monday 2:00 p.m. EST until the time of services in the funeral home.
