Ruby M. Hartman, 89, residing on
Ridgedale Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 2:35 a.m.
Monday, Aug. 6, in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Hartman was born Aug. 6, 1912, in Straight Creek, Ky., as
the daughter of Harry and Anna Edith (Dowell) Harrison,
and had lived in South Bend since 1929, coming from Jasonville,
Ind.
On March 17, 1934, in South Bend, she
married Norman A. Hartman, who preceded her in death on June 29,
1993. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Harrietta O'Rourke.
She is survived by three daughters, Norma S. (Robert J.) Stewart
of Dunnellon, Fla., Catherine Hartman and Neila K. Rozow,
both of Mishawaka, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren
and two great-great-grandchildren; and by two sisters, Eulla Inks
of Dayton, Ohio, and Pauline Spradling of Albuquerque,
N.M.
Services for Mrs. Hartman will be at 10 a.m.
Friday, Aug. 10, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka
Avenue, South Bend. Rev. Marc Royer will officiate. Burial will
follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind. The family
will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Palmer
Funeral Home. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Hartman may be made
to the Alzheimer's Association, 425 North Michigan Street, South
Bend, IN 46601.
