SOUTH BEND - Phyllis R. (O'Meara) Hartford, 68, of Hampshire Drive, died at 6 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital after an illness.

Mrs. Hartford was born Oct. 31, 1926, in South Bend. On Aug. 24, 1946, in Lakeville, as Phyllis R. O'Meara, she married Lewis M. Hartford. He survives with a daughter, Gael Ann Wasserman of Indianapolis; a son, Bryan L. of Fresno, Calif.; two grandchildren; her mother, Cecelia O'Meara of South Bend; 10 sisters, Larraine Yocum and Beverly White, both of South Bend, Delores Jenkins of Vancouver, Wash., Naomi O'Meara and Carolyn Klinger, both of Indianapolis, Rosine O'Meara of Lafayette, Ind., Mary Koziej of Dayton, Ohio, Estelle Modjeski of Ann Arbor, Charlene Koury of Aiken, S.C., and Irene Marcus of Canada; and two brothers, James O'Meara of Indianapolis and Herbert O'Meara of Los Angeles.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison Road. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society of United Way. (nf)
