SOUTH BEND - Rodney LaValle Harris Sr., 21, of 1834 N. Meade St., died at 2 a.m. Saturday at 1653 N. Brookfield St. The death is being investigated as a homicide. Mr. Harris was employed by Lacy's Fabrication as a welder. He was born March 6, 1972, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. He is survived by a daughter, Tithandy Scaife of South Bend; a son, Rodney L. Jr. of South Bend; his parents, Gertrude Harris and Robert L. Harris, both of South Bend; three sisters, Carolyn D. Cousette of Minneapolis, Deborah Rice of College Station, Texas, and Michele Cousette of South Bend; and his fiancee, Stephanie Scaife of South Bend.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Zion Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services in the church. Alford's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements
