Frances Olive Harris, 95, of East South Street, died at 8:44 p.m. Sunday in Regency Place. Mrs. Harris retired in 1965 from South Bend Community School Corp. as an elementary teacher. She was born Sept. 15, 1900, in Winchester, Ind., and lived in South Bend most of her life.
In 1932, in Mishawaka, she married Clarence M. Harris. He died Dec. 13, 1990.
She is survived by a daughter, Julie Kreitzman of South Bend; a son, Joseph W. of Dayton, Ohio; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Kathryn Freeman of Dayton. She was a member of Kiwanis Ladies Auxiliary, South Bend Retired Teachers Association, Schoolmen's Wives Club, and Christian Science Church. She was a graduate of Ball State University and Goshen College.
Services will be at 8 p.m. Friday in Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Granger Missionary Church or Alzheimer's Association.
