Claude Harper

Mr. Claude Harper, 71, of 1515 South Carroll Street, South Bend, Ind., formerly of Elkhart, Ind., passed away on Friday, Jan. 2, in the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System in Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was born on June 17, 1926 in Jackson, Miss., to the union of Joanne (Sameton) and Jerry Harper. Mr. Harper was employed by the City of Elkhart as a laborer.

Mr. Harper leaves to mourn his passing one brother, William Harper of Jackson, Miss.; one sister, Dorothy Franklin of West Covina, Calif.; a special niece, Joann Harper of South Bend; two sisters-in-law, Ester and Sarah Harper of South Bend, along with host of other friends and relatives. Mr. Harper was preceded in death by three brothers, Lee, Charles and Joe Harper.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, in Alford's Mortuary, where visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Alford's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
