Joel Edward Harman

SOUTH BEND - Joel Edward Harman, 74, died Tuesday,
December 11, in St. Joseph Care Center West, South Bend. He was
born August 20, 1933, in South Bend.
On September 13, 1958, in South Bend, he
married Sharon Lee Scheiman, who preceded him in death in
2005. Mr. Harman is survived by two daughters, Dee Fuller
and Tammy Harman, both of South Bend; two sons, Terry (Heren)
Harman of Month Junction, NJ, Gerry (Marlon) Harman of Savannah,
GA; two grandchildren, Patrick Harman, Dannielle Pigee;
three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruthann Nowakowski
of South Bend and Susan (Debbie Watson) Mason of
Edwardsburg; and eight brothers, William (Jane) Harman of Albion,
MI, Lew L. H. (Nancy) Harman of Niles, Michael Harman of Oletha,
KS, Frederick (Jeannine) Harman of Elkhart, Anthony Harman of
Walkerton, Walter G. (Ann) Harman of Mishawaka, James (Maryann)
Mason of Niles and Max (Sandy) Carter of Niles. Mr. Harman
was a retired truck driver for Consolidated Freight. He was a
graduate of South Bend Central High School. He was a United State
Navy veteran and a member of the VFW Post 360 in Mishawaka.
Services for Mr. Harman will be at 10:30
a.m. Saturday, December 15, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral
Home, 521 N. William St, South Bend, where friends may call from
2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial with military rites,
performed by VFW Post 360, will be at Highland Cemetery, South
Bend. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to
the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court,
South Bend, IN 46637.
