Obituary: Gerald C. Harmacinski

April 19, 1940 -- Aug. 9, 2006

Gerald C. "Jerry" Harmacinski, 66, of South Bend, passed away at 5:33 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2006, in Memorial Hospital.

Jerry was born on April 19, 1940, in South Bend, to Casimir and Chesterine (Zurawski) Harmacinski. His father has preceded him in death.

On April 27, 1963, he married Dolores (Van Laere) in South Bend. He is survived by his wife, Dolores; children, Brian (Jill) Harmacinski of New Carlisle, Sandy Harmacinski, Gary (Lori) Harmacinski, Vicki Briggs and Jody Harmacinski, all of South Bend; six grandchildren, Chase, Reid, Lexi, Quinn, Kaylee and Jack; two brothers, Raymond Harmacinski of South Bend and Daniel (Carol) Harmacinski of Granger; and a niece, Kim Harmacinski of Granger.

Jerry worked for Citigroup and retired October 1, 2005. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, MR Falcons, and he enjoyed bowling.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 11, 2006, from 3 to 8 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 12, 2006, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
