Rosemary P. Hardig, 82, of 1927 New
London Court, died at 8:15 a.m. today in St. Joseph Medical
Center. She was a former teacher in the Detroit schools. She was
born July 14, 1904 in Detroit and lived in South Bend since 1926,
coming from Detroit.
On Nov. 3, 1926 in Detroit, she married
Eugene J. Hardig, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter,
Rosemary C. Shafer of South Bend; three sons, James E. of
South Bend, Edward D. of Granger, and Eugene J. Jr. of
Statesville, N.C.; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and
a brother, Leo Higgins of Detroit.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Frinday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Hickey Funeral Home. She was a member of the church, South Bend Bridge Club, St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, Alter Rosary Society and the Christ Child Society. Contributions may be made to the Christ Child Society.
