Thelma G. Hans, 89, of Wabash Street,
South Bend, Ind., passed away after an extended illness at 4:35
a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 24, in Hospice House of St. Joseph County.
Mrs. Hans was born on Oct. 7, 1909, in North Liberty, Ind., and
was a lifelong Michiana area resident.
On May 17, 1924, in North Liberty, she
married Joseph L. Hans, who survives. She is also survived by two
daughters, and five sons, Doris J. Lonzo and Diana M.
Hans, Floyd J. Hans and Dale L. Hans, all of South Bend, Gerald
O. Hans of Osceola, Ind., Robert L. Hans of Mishawaka, Ind., and
Larry G. Hans of Granger, Ind. Mrs. Hans will also be sadly
missed by her nine loving grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Russell
Hans.
Visitation hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m.
today, Aug. 25, in the Hanley & Sons ''Southwest Chapel''
Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23, South
Bend. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26,
in the funeral home, with Pastor Kevin Zuber officiating. Burial
will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery. The family request that
all memorial contributions be made to the St. Joseph County
Hospice or to a charity of the donor's choice. The Hanley &
Sons ''Southwest Chapel'' Funeral Home handled services and
extends heartfelt sympathy to the family.
