Gregory L. Haney

Gregory L. Haney, 51, of Bertrand Road, Niles, Mich., formerly of Little Crooked Lake, Sister Lakes, Mich., died Friday morning, March 28, in Memorial Hospital.
Greg was employed at the Allied Products Stamping Division for seven years, the Bendix Corporation for 10 years, and New Energy for 11 years as a journeyman-pipefitter. He was born Oct. 2, 1951, in South Bend, Ind., to Lewis and Dorothy (Ewing) Haney. He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Haney, who died on May 9, 1999.
On May 26, 1973, in South Bend, he married Mona Stevens, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Lisa R. Haney of Niles; two sons, Troy A. Haney of Lansing, Mich., and Ryan J. Haney of Boston, Mass.; a sister, Becky (Don) Galeziewski of South Bend; several nieces and nephews; and by his mother, Dorothy Haney of South Bend.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Christ the King Catholic Church, South Bend (933 and Darden Roads). Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. today in the HICKEY Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road (between Ironwood and Grape Roads, 574-289-1000), where a Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Burial will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Niles.
Greg coached various sports in the South Bend/Niles areas, including Optimist Soccer/MSA (Michiana Soccer Association), Brandywine Bambino Baseball and Midget League Basketball. He was also a member of the Army Reserve.
