MISHAWAKA - Ruthmary Hammond, 66, of Windingbrook Drive, died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday in Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center, South Bend. Mrs. Hammond was born May 6, 1929, in Mishawaka.
On June 17, 1950, in Mishawaka, as Ruthmary Dewald, she married Richard R. Hammond. He survives with three daughters, Victoria L. Anderson of South Bend, Nancy A. Lawrence of Fishers, Ind., and Michele M. Zeltwanger of Mishawaka; two sons, Timothy R. of Zionsville, Ind., and Michael T. of Fishers; seven grandchildren; her father and stepmother, Gladys and George B. Dewald of Mishawaka; three brothers, James and Charles DeWald, both of Mishawaka, and Thomas DeWald of Sarasota, Fla.; a stepsister, Rebecca Balog of Arvada, Colo.; a stepbrother, Ronald Kinch of Mishawaka; and a half sister, Christine Erickson of Bremen.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday in McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison Road, South Bend.

MISHAWAKA - Services for Ruthmary Hammond, 66, of Winding Brook Drive, who died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday in Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in St. Pius X Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday in McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison Road, South Bend, where a wake service will be at 4:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association or Parkinson's Foundation. She was a member of the church.
