LAKEVILLE - Walter H. Hamilton, 95, passed away at 4:05
a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical
Center, South Bend. He was born on July 18, 1913, in South Bend,
IN, to the late Oral David and Thelma (Hardy) Hamilton. On
June 29, 1935, in South Bend, he married the former Annabelle Forkner,
who preceded him in death on February 18, 1986. Mr. Hamilton is
survived by two daughters, Carol Clark of Lakeville and
Dixie Segraves of Walkerton; two sons, Gary W. (Sharon)
Hamilton of Auburn, CA, and Dan C. Hamilton of South Bend; eight
grandchildren, Michelle Clark of Kentucky, Stephanie Clark of
Lakeville, Toby Segraves of Walkerton and Anna Segraves of
Washington, D.C., Jerry Segraves of South Bend, Mike (Tina)
Hamilton and Cory Hamilton, all of California, and James Hamilton
of Lakeville; seven great-grandchildren, Ross, Arianna, Alyssa,
Kealan, Kelsey, Emma and Adison. An infant son, Ronald Lee
Hamilton, preceded him in death. Mr. Hamilton was a lifelong area
resident. He retired as a machinist from the engineering
department of the Bendix Corporation after 37 years of service.
Mr. Hamilton was a charter member of the Lakeville Masonic Lodge
#353, F&AM, inducted in October 1943. He was a member of the
lodge for 65 years. He also was a member of the Loyal Order of
Moose in Plymouth, IN, Fraternal Order of Eagles, United Auto
Workers, and was a member of the former Avalon Grotto.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan St., Lakeville. Rev. Andy Kaser will officiate. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, where a Masonic service will be held at 5 p.m. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society,
