John F. Haluda
Sept. 15, 1940 - July 30, 1999
John F. Haluda, 58, of South Bend, Ind.,
passed away at 5:52 p.m. on Friday, July 30, 1999, in his
residence.
He was born on Sept. 15, 1940, in South
Bend and was a lifelong resident. Known as ''the Hummer'' by his
coworkers, John was employed with the United Beverage Company for
26 years.
John was a member of Holy Cross Church.
He took great pride in his yard and was the person everyone came
to for advice. He was a race car fan, with Jeff Gordon as his
favorite driver. He was also an avid Notre Dame fan, and anyone
that knew him knew his favorite saying was ''Just One More and
Then We Gotta Go!''
On July 28, 1962, in the former Sacred
Heart Church on Thomas Street, he married Jean Kuboske, who
survives.
He is also survived by two
daughters, Kelly Haluda of Indianapolis, Ind., and Shelley
(Larry) Regina of South Bend; a son, Michael Haluda of South
Bend; his mother, Pearl Haluda of South Bend; and by two
brothers, Thomas (Carolyn) Haluda and David Haluda, both of South
Bend.
He was preceded in death by his
father, Bert Haluda on November 19, 1958.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be
held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 1999, in Holy Cross Church.
Friends may call from 3 until 8 p.m. today in the Kaniewski
Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish rosary will be
prayed at 4:30 p.m.
The family would like to thank all
of the caring and devoted caregivers from Hospice of St. Joseph
County for all of their help during John's illness. Memorial
