Donovan Mac Hall Sr.

July 22, 1908 - January 31, 1980

Donovan Mac Hall Sr, 71, of 1202 W 7th, Mishawaka, died late Thursday in Methodist Hospital, Rochester MN, after an 18-month illness.  He was a musician and had been band leader of the Mac Hall band in this area for many years.

He was born on July22, 1908, in Buckhannon, WV, and had lived here most of his life, coming from West Virginia.

On March 23, 1967, in Arlington VA, he married Ruth Wentworth.  She died in 1973.  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Lou McCrory of Niles; two sons, Donovan Mac Jr. of South Bend and James C. of Mishawaka; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Services will be at 1pm Monday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William.  Rev. Kenneth R. Hemphill, pastor of Olive Chapel United Church of Christ, will officiate.  Burial will be in St Joseph Valley Memorial Park.

Friends may call form 2 to 5 and 7 to 9pm Sunday in the funeral home.  He was a member of the American Federation of Musicians Local 278 and a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
