Wakarusa Woman, age 63, Dies in the
Same Hour as her Brother, 64.
Within an hour, Jacob Geyer, age 64, of
rural route 1, this city, and his sister, Mrs. Anna May Hahn
, age 63, of Wakarusa, this county, died in their respective
homes Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Geyer died at 2 o'clock and Mrs.
Hahn at 3 o'clock.
Mrs. Hahn was born Jan. 26, 1867, near
Mishawaka, where she had lived her entire life. She was
married 45 years ago to Levi Hahn, a prominent farmer.
Surviving are three children, Edward Hahn, cashier of the
Mishawaka Loan & Trust Company, Charles of LaPorte, Ind., and
Clem, of Walkerton, this county; three brothers, David Geyer of
Bremen, Ind., Joseph Geyer of South Bend, and Edward Geyer
of Los Angeles, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Albert,
of Mishawaka, and Mrs. William Miller of Plymouth, Neb.
Funeral services will be held in the Madison
Union chapel, west of Wakarusa, at 2;30 o'clock Saturday
afternoon, with the Rev. David Hygema officiating. Burial
will be in the Bremen cemetey. The body may be viewed at
the residence.
Mr. Geyer was also born near Mishawaka, Oct.
30, 1865, and had lived at his present residence eight years,
moving there from Mishawaka. He was married Dec. 16, 1886
in Woodland, to Miss Mary Mangus who survives with three
sons and two daughters. They are Cloyd E.. Ralph V., Harold
J., Mrs. Blanch Meert and Mrs. Ruth Neupert, all of
South Bend.
The funeral services will be held at the
residence Saturday morning at 10 o'clock and burial will take
place in the Sumption Prairie cemetery. The body may be
viewed at the residence.
