SOUTH BEND - William David Hagood, Sr., 66, of South Bend, passed
away at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in his home. He was
born January 29, 1944 in Chicago, IL, the son of Wallace and Mary
(Chambers) Hagood. David graduated from Brandywine High School
and then served his country honorably in the United States Marine
Corps during the Vietnam War. He spent most of his life in the
Michiana area. David was a meat cutter for many years at several
companies and grocery stores. He also worked for Bangor
Refrigeration. On October 30, 1965 in South Bend, IN, he married
the former Janice M. Miller, who survives. David is also survived
by three daughters, Jeannette Troutman of Osceola, Karie Hagood
of Mishawaka and Wendy (Jimmy) Kuhl of South Bend; one son,
William D. (Renee Keltz) Hagood, Jr. of Mishawaka; seven
grandchildren, John Gordon, Andrew Troutman, Codye Hagood, Kallie
and Brandon Kuhl, and Connor and Jordan Keltz; four sisters,
Frances Hagood of Niles, MI, Patricia (Mike) Gaul of Buchanan,
MI, Nadine (Tim) Rutledge of Niles, MI and JoAnne (Lolo) Ramirez
of LaPorte, IN; eleven nephews; and thirteen nieces. David was
preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne & Raymond Hagood.
Funeral services for David will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26,
2010 in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland
Road, South Bend, with the Rev. Ed Erskin officiating. Military
graveside rites and burial will follow in Mission Hills Memorial
Gardens, Niles, MI. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 -
7:00 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 at the funeral home. Expressions
