Mrs. Mildred B. Hagen, 79, of 708 E. Corby, died at 8:30 a.m.
Saturday at the Ridgedale Nursing Home after a six-month illness.
She was retired from the H.D. Lee Co.
She was born in South Bend on April 27, 1903. She married Walter
Hagen on March 26, 1923, in Benton Harbor. He died on Jan. 31,
1955.
Her only son, Walter Hagen Jr., was killed during the Normandy
landing in World War II. She is survived by a sister, Florence
Nagle of East St. Louis, Ill., and a brother, Milton Snyder of
Misawaka.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Portage Chapel at
Riverview Cemetery. Rev. Harold Kline, pastor at the First
Christian Church, will officiate.
Burial will be at the Riverview Cemetery. There will be no
visitation. She was a member of the Gold Star Mothers of World
War II.
