Mrs. Helen P. Haefner, 81, of 1209 E. Brosnon Street, died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born Nov. 25, 1899 in South Bend, and lived here all her life.

On Oct. 26, 1929 she married Albert Haefner. He died on April 25, 1969. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jean M. Kalkbrenner of Snyder NY; a son Donn R. of South Bend, and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Satuday at the Welscheimer Funeral Chapel. Rev. Donald I. Kaufman, pastor of the Zion United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to p p.m. Friday at the fuberal home. She was a member of the church, and the Helen Rebek Lodge. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
