Mrs. Martha Marie Guzicki, 79, of Matthews, N.C., formerly of South Bend, Ind., died on Tuesday, Dec. 15, at home. A memorial Mass will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Charlotte, N.C., with Father Edmund Walker officiating. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the Heritage Funeral Home, Matthews. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in South Bend.

Mrs. Guzicki was born on April 7, 1919, in New Carlisle, Ind., to the late Cashmere and Rose Zarembka. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ted Guzicki. Since moving to Charlotte, Mrs. Guzicki was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking and her grandchildren. Her family and loved ones will treasure the memories of their loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Mrs. Guzicki is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Dennis Marshall of Charlotte; her daughter, Debbie Guzicki of Matthews; her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and David Harlan of Dublin, Ohio; her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Dorreen Guzicki of Valparaiso; and by her loving grandchildren, Kimberly, Colleen, Jason, Ryan, Jennifer, Michelle and Robin; and by her great-grandson, Brian.

The family has asked that memorials be made to St. Matthew Catholic Church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy., Charlotte, NC 28277. Mrs. Guzicki's arrangements are in the care of the Heritage Funeral Home of Matthews.
