LAKEVILLE -- Lucille Marie Guyberson,
84, of Lakeville, IN, passed away after an extended illness at 5
a.m. Tuesday, October 10, in the home of her daughter on Leeper
Road. Lucille was born on May 29, 1922, in South Bend, and was a
lifetime resident of the Michiana area. She is survived by a
daughter, Marlene M. (John) Heater of Lakeville; six sons,
Dallas D. (Wilma) Reed of Denver, Colo., Terry W.
(Loretta) Reed of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, William J. Guyberson Jr. of
LaPaz, Indiana, Randy A. Guyberson of South Bend, Brad K.
(Gloria) Guyberson of Elkhart, Indiana, and Jeffrey J. (Sherry)
Guyberson of Edwardsburg, Michigan; a sister, Charlotte Rogers
of Lafayette, New York; and 19 grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren, whom she loved and cherished. Lucille was
preceded in death by a son, Lonnie Guyberson, and a brother,
Albert Shufty. Mrs. Guyberson was a homemaker who loved
her family and was always there for them. She loved cooking,
flowers, and life in general. She was a devoted Christian,
serving the Lord through her church. She was a member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints in Plymouth,
Indiana.
Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m.
today, Oct. 12, in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest
Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana
23, South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday,
Oct. 13, in the funeral home. Rev. Patrick Mason will officiate
and burial to follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, South Bend.
The family request that all memorial contributions be made to The
Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook
Court, South Bend, IN 46637. The HANLEY and Sons "Southwest
Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and services and
extend deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Guyberson
family.
