Martha Martie Jean Guess, 49, died Thursday in
Rush University Medical Center, Chicago. Survivors include
her husband, Patrick J., daughter, Whitney at home, her father,
Howard Tom Taylor of Granger, sisters, Linda Stouder,
Vicki Maley, Connie Quier, Peggy Jones and Wendy Willis; and
brothers, Gary, Charles and Dennis Taylor. Services will be
held at 11am Tuesday in Walkerton United Methodist Church. Friends
may call from 2 to 8pm Monday in Palmer Funeral Home-Lakeville
and one hour before services at the church.

WALKERTON
Martha J. Martie Guess, 49, residing in
Walkerton, passed away after a brief illness at 4:00am on
Thursday, August 16, 2007, in the Rush University Medical Center,
Chicago.
Martie
was born on August 3, 1958, in South Bend, and had been a
lifelong area resident. On August 4, 1984, in South Bend,
she married Patrick J. Guess, who survives. Along with her
husband, Patrick, survivors include her daughters, Whitney F.
Guess, at home; her father, Howard Tom Taylor of
Granger; five sisters, Linda (Bob) Stouder of New Carlisle, Vicki
(Frank) Maley of Dowagiac MI, Connie (Rick) Quier of Elkhart,
Peggy (John) Jones of Bremen and Wendy (Curt) Willis of Elkhart,
three brothers, Gary (Jan) Taylor of Mishawaka, Charles Taylor of
Mishawaka and Dennis Taylor of Mishawaka. Also, surviving
are 26 nieces and nephew, and 37 great nieces and great nephews.
Martie was preceded in death by her mother, Frances L. (Richards)
Taylor, and a brother, Tommy Dee Taylor Sr.
Martie
was the owner and operator of the Guess What Shop,
and antique store in North Liberty. She was a garage sale
fanatic. Martie was of the United Methodist faith. Funeral
services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 21, 2007, in
the Walkerton United Methodist Church, 1000 Georgia Street,
Walkerton. Rev. Charlene Harris Allen, pastor, will
officiate. Cremation will follow at Southlawn Cremation
Services, South Bend.
Friends
may visit with the family from 2 to 8pm on Monday, August 20th,
in the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan Street, Lakeville,
and one hour prior to services in the church on Tuesday. Contributions
in memory of Martie J. Guess may be donated to the American
Cancer Society, 601 W. Edison Road, Mishawaka IN 46545.
