Services for Brother Austin Paul Guenther CSC , 78, of South Bend, who died early Saturday morning at Holy Cross House, Notre Dame, will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Church at Notre Dame. There will be a wake service at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Moreau Chapel, where friends may call after 3:30 p.m. today.

He was born July 10, 1910 in Fredericksburg, Ohio. He entered the Holy Cross Novitiate on Feb. 1, 1930, and made his first profession of vows on Feb. 2, 1931. During the time of his active service he was assigned to the University of Notre Dame from 1932 to 1942; the University of Portland from 1942 to 1964; the Ave Maria Press from 1964 to 1969; and Casa Santa Cruz, Phoenix, Ariz. from 1971 to 1973. He retired to Holy Cross House in 1973, and has been in residence since that time. He is survived by a brother and a sister.
