Gruber, Nadolny, WackRobert L. Gruber: (South Bend Tribune 3/14/1994)June 26, 1946-March 13, 1994 SOUTH BEND – Robert L. Gruber, 47, of Mulberry Road, died about 5:18 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital of natural causes. Mr. Gruber was the former owner of Gruber’s Supermarket and was employeed by Troyer Foods as a sales representative. He was born June 26, 1946, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On Sept. 6, 1971, in South Bend, he married Catherine J. Nadolny. She survives with a daughter, Kimberly at home; three sons, Robert J., Anthony J., and Matthew J., all at home; his mother, Ann Gruber Wach of South Bend; and two brothers, John and James, both of South Bend. He was a member of DFV German Club and St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
